We Care About Your Health
The New Brunswick Chiropractors' Association is a regulated provincial association committed to advancing chiropractic health care. We aim to improve the health and wellness of our members and the public of New Brunswick by promoting excellence in chiropractic practice and patient care.
We’ve Got Something to Say
We advance chiropractic health care by supporting our members in practice, supporting research in chiropractic, raising awareness through advertising and public education, and demonstrating the value of chiropractic coverage in government and extended health care plans.
We are Accountable to YOU
The New Brunswick Chiropractors' Association is regulated and governed by an elected board of directors, who are supported by committees and the NBCA staff. This board is elected on a two-year term and is committed to working in collaboration with the Executive Director in delivering a service that benefits our province and our members who are actively working to build a healthy New Brunswick.
Tips for healthy living
The New Brunswick Chiropractors' Association is committed to providing education for our communities focusing on the benefits of good posture, regular treatments and interesting facts in order to educate YOU and encourage YOU to stay active and live a life of vitality.
Something for our seniors
Chiropractic Coverage
Extended Health Care (EHC) plans are also sometimes called supplementary health or supplementary medical plans. Their purpose is to supplement provincial health programs.
There are two basic types of Extended Health Care plans: group and individual. The most common type of EHC coverage in Canada is provided through workplace group benefits programs arranged by employers, unions and trade and professional associations.
Chiropractic care is covered under many EHC plans as a paramedical service. If you and your family have extended health care coverage through an employee benefits plan, it’s very likely that plan covers chiropractic care.
That’s not surprising when you consider the facts: Low back pain affects 85 per cent of the working population. Health Canada estimated that musculoskeletal disorders, including back pain, cost society $16.4 billion in combined direct (treatment and rehabilitation) and indirect (lost productivity) costs.
Three recent reports have concluded that increased utilization of chiropractic care can reduce benefit costs and contribute to improved productivity. As well, patients treated by a chiropractor for back pain returned to work sooner and had reduced rates of chronic problems and hospitalization.
Chiropractors are the practitioners of choice when it comes to back pain, and have a high rate of patient satisfaction. About 4 million Canadians consult a chiropractor each year.
